Five civilians killed, ten injured by SAC airstrikes and drone bombing in Nawngkhio township
Between March 21 and April 1, 2025, SAC airstrikes and drone bombs killed five civilians and injured ten others, damaging dozens of houses in areas of Nawngkhio township controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA). Many of the SAC attacks took place after the catastrophic earthquake on March 28, showing clearly that the regime’s priority during this national crisis is not to save lives but to remain in power at all costs.
In the morning of March 21, a SAC Y-12 jet fighter dropped bombs around Lauk Hpan, Oom Mark Dee, Oom Markha and Kyauk Kyan villages, damaging several houses.
On March 22, SAC drones dropped 4 bombs into Oom Markha, injuring one man and damaging one house.
According to local villagers, on March 25, SAC troops regained control of Taungkham in southern Nawngkhio township.
On March 26, at 6 pm, two SAC fighter jets dropped five bombs onto Oom Markha, Thonze and Shwe Nyaung Pin villages. Two bombs exploded in Thonze village, killing four civilians (two men and two women from the same family) and damaging four houses. Two bombs exploded in Oom Markha village, injuring four villagers and damaging four houses. One bomb exploded in Shwe Nyaung Pin village, damaging two houses.
On March 28, at about 1 pm, minutes after the 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Mandalay, a SAC aircraft dropped eight bombs on Nawng Leng and Kan Kyi villages, damaging ten houses.
On March 30, at 12 pm, a SAC aircraft dropped two 250-pound bombs on Oom Mark Dee village, damaging several houses.
On March 31, at 10:30 am, SAC drones dropped bombs on Kyauk Kyan village, damaging two houses.
On April 1st, at around 11 am, SAC drones dropped bombs on Oom Mark Dee and Thonze villages, killing one villager and damaging one house. At 11:24 am, SAC aircraft dropped bombs on Taung Hla village near Taung Kham, injuring five villagers and damaging two houses; at around the same time, SAC aircraft dropped bombs on Yay Maung Tan and Loi Kwang villages, damaging several houses.
